Advocating for Clean Water in Fashion's Wake, with Aurélie Rossini of Drip by Drip

A shocking amount of water is needed to produce even the simplest garment, and as is often the case, the water on the other side of many steps of the fabric and garment-making process is left polluted and unusable. It is also often the only water available to communities, who now face unthinkable diseases after having no choice but to drink their industry-contaminated water.

Aurélie Rossini is a board member for and works with the Berlin-based organization, Drip by Drip. They are tackling the issue head on, including affordable filtration systems to reclaim polluted water, textiles developed with water in mind, design initiatives for students, and finished garments. Clean drinking water is a human right. Join us in learning about the issue and then visit DripbyDrip.org to be part of the much needed advocacy for clean water in fashion's wake.

Special Episode with Artist Dodd Holsapple

MagicLinks shares our office building in Venice with Budman Studio, and artist Dodd Holsapple took up a twelve-day residency there this fall. A successful sculptor in the 1990s, Dodd intentionally paused and has reoriented his career around painting. We have been fortunate enough to watch his reemergence into the art scene with his triptych of layered, interwoven paint on custom canvases for a series speaking to ocean conservancy and environmental peril.

The interview was in person (though socially distanced) and includes room noise, traffic, and the chatter of others in the background at times. In a year when art and studio space feels so out of reach for most everyone, and when normal is indeed far away, we hope this special episode helps bring a sense of connection. Visit www.doddholsapple.com to see more of Dodd's remarkable work.
